Releases, open builds and a daily build log: what I made and what worked, newest first.

  1. agoro.games points to the campaign, and the print-and-play rulebooks get a German edition.

Every page of agoro.games now carries a bar to the Gamefound campaign, which opens on 16 October. I also built German editions of the five Agoro print-and-play rulebooks, with 85 card pictures painted by an image model running on my own Mac; nobody has played the German cards at a table yet. A test figurine with Agoro Games engraved under its base is on the printer.

  2. Seven stretch goals on the Gamefound page.

Each goal adds free digital extras for every pledge, from wallpapers and a weekly devlog to figurines you can 3D-print yourself. There are also first-backer rewards: 200 places for Agoro Road and 200 for both games.

  3. The Agoro Games app 1.0: in the browser and on Android, with the stores next.

The studio app is live at app.agoro.games and as a direct Android download. It is submitted to Google Play, and the iPhone version is in App Review.

  4. Agoro Road in Fortnite: a first playable test build.

Caravan Defence, a small version of Agoro Road made in Unreal Editor for Fortnite, became playable as a private test: you place stamps, start the caravan, and a stamp turns the animals away by itself. It is not public yet. The same night the Unreal road got PC graphics settings that pick themselves, still on a test branch, and Gamefound approved the studio's verification. That evening Gamefound Update 2 went out, with Agoro Tournament 3K4, my arena-shooter test ground, and the Fortnite playtest that opens next.

DanielB and the original fighter on a test set in Agoro Tournament 3K4, filmed with Unreal Engine 5.8's Sequencer (development build). The fighters and the rifle are AI-generated 3D models (Tripo); the jog is Epic's Mannequin animation.
  5. Agoro Road: the travellers keep watch on the board.

In the browser game the travellers no longer stand still at the road's end. By day they wait at the caravan and stroll between your stamps; at night they stand guard at them, walk beside an animal while the stamps work on it, and lead it off the road when it turns back. The Unreal road now also builds for Mac, Windows and, for the first time, iPhone, all as private test builds, and I played the whole tablet journey in 22 minutes on Medium.

  6. Agoro Road and Agoro Camp have a page on Gamefound, with a trailer and the first devlog.

The Gamefound project page is public, and you can follow it before the campaign opens on 16 October at 12:00 CEST; it runs until 30 November. The same evening the trailer Meet Kai, Amara and Kofa went up on YouTube, followed by Devlog #1 and the walkthroughs of both games. I dropped the Kickstarter draft to run the campaign on Gamefound only, and finished the 21-page digital artbook that backers get.

  7. Build logs: both games now also run in Unreal Engine.

Agoro Camp is now an Unreal Engine 5.8 world you drive into, at version 3.3, and Agoro Road has a second build in Unreal that runs on a tablet. Both are prototypes; the browser versions stay free to play.

  8. Three entries in Tripothon S1: Agoro Camp, Agoro Road, and the road as figurines.

Agoro Camp went into Tripo's world-building hackathon on 5 October. On 6 October Agoro Road followed in the Game track, and The World You Can Hold, the same Tripo models printed as figurines, in the Physical Design track. I will show them at the Demo Day in Barcelona on 17 October. The Unreal road also got the four difficulty levels and the four new worlds, and they run smoothly on a tablet.

  9. Agoro Road: four new worlds, and a switch between 2D and 3D.

Hairpin Bend, Two Roads Meet, Parting Ways and The Crossroads joined the browser game, painted for the 2D board and built for the 3D view, so the journey now runs through eight worlds from First Light to The Crossroads. A button on the title screen and in Settings switches between the two views, and on the 2D board the caravan and the travellers now wait at the road's end. In Unreal, Agoro Camp reached version 3, with the van, the caravan and Nilua in 3D, and its first Windows build.

  10. Agoro Road: four ways to walk it.

Before the road starts you now pick Beginner, Medium, Hard or Agoro, the hardest. It is in the browser prototype today.

  11. Agoro Road: stamps you can turn, and Agoro Camp's first playtest.

While you build, you can now turn a stamp before you press it onto the road, and a compass shows which way it faces; it is in the browser prototype today. The same day Nilua played the Unreal version of Agoro Camp, and eight fixes came out of her session.

  12. A campaign page drafted, and a decision: new content after release comes as free updates.

I drafted the crowdfunding page for Agoro Road and Agoro Camp, first for Kickstarter, with a trailer, the reward tiers and a figurine tier in stone and wood. I also decided to keep adding to both games after release as free updates; for Agoro Camp that means more of the camp's story after 2022.

  13. Four games reach Google Play: Lanternlight and the three Pocket cartridges.

Lanternlight: One Night, Kora Rhythm Run, Market Hustle Accra and Sankofa Memory Path can now be installed on Android. All four also play in your browser.

  14. Lanternlight 1.1: the lantern is the clock.

The night now ends when the oil runs out, and every stop is a choice between two doors. Version 1.1 is on the App Store, and the browser version has the same changes.

  15. Agoro Road build log: the stand-ins are gone, and the road has its evening.

All eleven objects on the road are the real ones now, made from the concept art, and the 3D view with dusk, night and dawn is in the game, behind a switch for now.

  16. Nine games on one shelf, a contests page, and the old addresses now lead here.

Agoro Daakye joins the shelf as a game in design. Lanternlight's browser version moves to lanternlight.agoro.games. The studio page now says plainly who makes this: one person and a set of AI agents. The legacy game addresses redirect to their agoro.games homes.

  17. agoro.games is live: one home for every Agoro title.

Eight games, the studio, and the build logs now sit under one address. Each playable build has its own subdomain, and the Agoro Road and Agoro Camp sites live at /road and /camp.

  18. Agoro Road build log: a week in one colour.

Four photographs and one clip from the week the travellers were printed in a single colour, plus where Agoro Road can be found now, in six languages.

  19. Agoro Road has a public site, with the trailer, the roadmap and Wave 1 editions.

Reservations take no money. The first region stays free to play in the browser while the game is built.

  20. Agoro Camp opens its current build to everyone.

The camp builder set on Camp Afric, a real off-grid site in Portugal, can be played free in the browser. Its public site launched the same day, in English and German.

  21. Agoro Bounce is out on the App Store.

The two-worlds duel that you play by sending a friend a link. It reached Google Play on 26 August.

  22. Lanternlight: One Night is out on the App Store.

One night, one lantern: the lantern is your clock, your money and your health at once. The web version plays free in the browser.

  23. Three cartridges leave the pocket console: Kora Rhythm Run, Market Hustle Accra and Sankofa Memory Path.

The three games inside Agoro Pocket became standalone titles that play free in the browser.

  24. Agoro Pocket is out on both stores.

The pocket console with cartridges reached the App Store on 18 August and Google Play on 21 August. The web version plays at agoro.quest.
